La Catena Humboldt[1] és una catena de cràters lunars d'impacte notablement rectilínia que s'estén entre el nord-oest del cràter Humboldt, del que pren el nom, i el sud-est del cràter Gibbs, amb una longitud aproximada de 160 quilòmetres. Les seves coordenades característiques són:
- Centre de la catena: 21° 59′ S, 84° 42′ E / 21.98°S,84.7°E / -21.98; 84.7 (Catena Humboldt)
- Extrem sud-oest: 23° 47′ S, 82° 35′ E / 23.78°S,82.58°E / -23.78; 82.58 (Catena Humboldt (S-O))
- Extrem nord-est: 19° 53′ S, 86° 31′ E / 19.89°S,86.51°E / -19.89; 86.51 (Catena Humboldt (N-E))
La catena té rumb nord-est des del punt més proper a Humboldt (al sud-oest), i l'extrem proper a Gibbs (al nord-est). Deu el seu nom al naturalista alemany Alexander von Humboldt (1769-1859).
