April – Arena México opens, built by Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre (EMLL; "Mexican Wrestling Enterprise") owner Salvador Lutteroth. Arena México became EMLL's main venue from that point forward and is referred to as the Cathedral of Lucha Libre.[1][2]
