Cheilobarbus, commonly known as sawfins,^[1] is a genus of fish in the family Cyprinidae endemic to the Western Cape region in South Africa.

There are two species:^[2]

Cheilobarbus capensis (Smith, 1841) (Cape whitefish)
Cheilobarbus serra (W. K. H. Peters, 1864) (Sawfin)

Both species are tetraploid, like Pseudobarbus redfins, from which they were separated.^[3]
