Omignano is a town and comune in the province of Salerno in the Campania region of south-western Italy.

Geography

The municipality borders with Casal Velino, Lustra, Salento, Sessa Cilento and Stella Cilento.

Culture

Omignano Cilento adhered to the Empathic Movement (Empathism) and has been inserted in the Cultural Pyramid of Cilento as "Il Paese degli Aforismi" (In English: "The Aphorisms Village").[3] The founder, Menotti Lerro, also Honorary Citizen of the village, was born there in 1980.[4] In the village it is possible to see more than one hundred ceramic tiles with historical and new contemporary aphorisms. In addition in the main square it is possible to see a large ceramic tile representing the Cultural Pyramid of Cilento.[5]
