The 20887/20888 Ranchi - Varanasi Vande Bharat Express is India's 49th Vande Bharat Express train, which connects the capital city of Jharkhand, Ranchi with the pilgrimage spot of the Holy Ganges River, Varanasi in northern Uttar Pradesh. [1][2] This express train was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video conferencing from Ahmedabad on March 12 2024. [3][4][5]

This train is operated by Indian Railways, connecting Ranchi Jn, Muri Jn, Bokaro Steel City, Koderma Jn, Gaya Jn, Sasaram Jn, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Jn and Varanasi Jn. It is operated with train numbers 20887/20888 on 6 days a week basis. [6]

Rakes

It is the forty-seventh 2nd Generation and thirty-second Mini Vande Bharat 2.0 Express train[broken anchor] which was designed and manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory at Perambur, Chennai under the Make in India Initiative.[7]
