Hancock County på Commons

Hancock County er et fylke i den amerikanske delstaten Illinois. Det ligger øst i staten og grenser mot Henderson County i nordøst, McDonough County i øst, Schuyler County i sørøst og mot Adams County i sør. Det har også grense mot delstatene Missouri i vest og Iowa i nordvest.

Hancock Countys totale areal er 2 110 km² hvorav 52 km² er vann. I 2010 hadde fylket 19 104^[1] innbyggere og administrasjonssenteret ligger i byen Carthage^[1].

Fylket ble grunnlagt i 1825^[1] av land fra Pike County og er oppkalt etter John Hancock som var den første som undertegnet USAs uavhengighetserklæring.
