Elwood Dager Cromwell (23. decembar 1887 – 26. septembar 1979), poznatiji kao John Cromwell, bio je američki filmski i teatarski režiser, najpoznatiji po nizu izuzetno uspješnih klasičnih hollywoodskih filmova 1930-ih, kao i po poratnim film noir ostvarenjima, ali i tome da mu je karijeru de facto okončao dolazak na hollywoodsku crnu listu.
Cromwell je sa svojom drugom suprugom, glumicom Kay Johnson, imao dva sina, od kojih je James Cromwell danas etablirani hollywoodski glumac.
