Phaethornithinae là một trong sáu phân họ thuộc họ Trochilidae (họ Chim ruồi). Phân họ này bao gồm 37 loài, chia thành 6 chi. Chúng phân bố từ nam México, qua Trung Mỹ, đến Nam Mỹ xa về phía nam Argentina.
